Yes, there is no Fate for us
Only those who are swallowed by
Ignorance and fear and miss a step
Fall into the rapid river called Fate
-Bleach, Volume 6
1. Start with a square for the palm of the hand.
2. Draw a small triangle coming off the bottom of one of the sides of that square, for where the thumb will go. Excuse my dead terrible ascii art, but it's a little something like this so far:
__
_| |
\| |
3. You've got your hand ready for a thumb and fingers. Each finger has 3 parts and 2 joints, and the thumb has 2 and 1, so let's just draw those parts as some connected cylinders. If you want to change the pose of the fingers, you can just show them bending by tilting those cylinders. (The thumb should make it just past the end of your starting box, and the longest, middle finger should be about the same length as that starting box. )
4. Round out the lines, smooth it out as needed, and erase the guidelines. Every time you get stuck drawing a hand, you can always fall back on this structure.
